WY CHAN (Ceci) holds a law degree from the University of Leeds, which she received in 2014, and a Certificate of Legal Practice, which she obtained the following year. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in November 2016.
After being called to the bar, WY Chan (Ceci) was offered a position as a legal associate at Messrs B K Soong & Ng. She went on to join the Law Office of Ng & Chuah as a junior partner in 2018. In 2023, WY Chan joined Messrs Karmen, Yeen, Kim & Co as a managing partner for the branch located in Kuala Lumpur.
WY Chan (Ceci) boasts a wealth of experience in family law, conveyancing and property law, probate, and general litigation. However, instead of promoting litigation, she seeks to help her clients resolve their disputes through alternative dispute resolution methods, such as mediation.
With regards to family law, WY Chan (Ceci) adopts a compassionate and personal approach to helping couples resolve their disputes. Her priority lies in the well-being of her clients and their families. While she works to reconcile couples and save marriages, in situations where reconciliation is not possible, she strives to minimize the harm and damage caused to both parties. She provides personal attention to each client and works diligently to resolve disputes related to divorce, matrimonial, and family law matters in the most amicable manner possible.
Adhering to the belief that “mediation is always better than going to court,” WY Chan (Ceci) completed a mediation training program organized by the Malaysian Mediation Centre and is now an accredited mediator on the Centre’s panel.
WY Chan (Ceci) is also highly active within the legal community, having joined the Malaysia Bar Council Family Committee, the Malaysia Bar Council Human Rights Committee, and the Malaysian Bar Small Firm Practice Committee. She was interviewed for the “Successful People in Malaysia” book, published by the Britishpedia Media Group.
